Dermal Fillers.
Restylane®, Juvederm Ultra®, Teosyal®, Perlane® and Belotero®
are all brand names for Hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers.

Dermal fillers are a temporary filler that is injected under the skin to smooth out facial lines of the face. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body and it is this substance that is used to great effect smoothing lines and wrinkles.

Restylane®, Juvederm Ultra®, Teosyal®, Perlane® and Belotero® are all brand names for Hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers. Each brand is essentially the same based product and is injected into the lines and wrinkles of the face to improve appearance.

Hyaluronic Acid based dermal fillers work by absorbing water from the body once injected which in turn plumps out the area lessening the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the surface of the skin with a natural feeling.

Dermal fillers are most commonly used to plump out the Nasolabial lines which run from your nose to your mouth. Fillers are also regularly used on the Marionette lines that run from mouth to chin.

Treatment (after an initial consultation) is carried out with minimal discomfort using a local anethestic topical cream on the face before the fillers are injected. The results can be seen immediately and they improve during the following week. Dermal fillers are a temporary filler which last around 9 months. If no further treatment is undertaken the skin will return to the pre treatment look.
